Eddie flew from the OMNINet building as quickly as he could, knowing that it was just a matter of time before someone realized what he had done. He thought for a moment about the welfare of Forest Samson, but the thought lasted about as long as an urbanite waits when a light turns green. Despite his rush, he didn’t want to look too far out of sorts, because it was still early afternoon. Most people don’t rush out of the OMNINet buildings until late in the day. Very late.

He turned towards the hotel where Kite was staying and where he had told him to go to when he was finished his ‘mission’.

Strangely, he would have never known this before now, but the last 20 minutes were probably the most insane and invigorating minutes of his life, as sad as that might sound. He now understood one of the reasons why Kite did what he did. Continue reading

What started as a simple vendetta against one of the world’s largest corporations had materialized into a great, vast disaster for Diana. She had no idea that people like Garamond were capable of this kind of hatred and viciousness, but the evidence was clearly and carefully laid out before her.

She spent most of her life trying to find weaknesses in the OMNINet and for once in her life, she felt like she had the upper hand.

Kite had done his job well. Continue reading

The Dollar is Doomed and the Fed’s Days are Numbered

Most of the non-digital media that I stumble upon like radio and the occasional TV news report rarely identify the fact that the US dollar has tanked so substantially over the last 7 years. The policies of the Bush administration have been a disaster – for most.

And the point of all this: the last 30 seconds of this video interview with Jim Rogers offer some insights that I think we can appreciate:

The American Central Bank is a disaster. It’s causing huge inflation in the world, not just in America. It is so bad – you can write this down -that I suspect that the American Central Bank will disappear within the next decade.

‘Cash for Access’ Video

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that some folks in the US can be that corrupt, but obviously new heights are reached every day. Check out this video when you get a chance.

As a regular, practical and protective measure, Kite kept the makers of cell phones well employed because every call that he made was from a new phone. He’d buy them hot on the market and buy them at 10 or 20 at a time, activate them using different plans and then toss them out as soon as he used them. It was tedious, costly and an administrative nightmare, but it insured that no-one would ever be able to trace a second call because he never made one.

After seeing Kite’s – or Carl Parkfield’s – name and picture on anything that was related to Sasha’s death, Eddie wanted to have a little chat with his long lost friend from university. However, after reviewing all of the security documents, and collecting any contact info he could find, none of lead him to Carl. Continue reading

Edward Manchester comes from a long line of Manchesters that have had a hand in influencing the economic and political direction of America and Canada since the early days of both countries. His family has a history of having a hand in all kinds of popular activities, like rum-running to the Chicago area, funding both sides of the army during the US civil war, arming resistance movements in socialist or communist Latin America and printing the one and only newspaper in several Canadian towns, leading to a very controlled and myopic view of certain issues. “You’ll be in charge of a very special unit,” one stuffy looking old man said to him from across the hall.

It was still light out and the meeting that Len Daniels was invited to had assumed a formal feel very quickly. All of the chit chat and murmuring stopped quickly when a single person came to the door and clapped a very old and dusty looking book. Daniels tried to see what it was, but there were too many people around him to get a good look. He also knew that all of his actions were being closely monitored. If he looked like he was trying too hard or showed any sign of doing something out of turn, the group would become silent and he’d ruin his initiation, which is what he suspected this was. When Eddie returned to his desk, the file on Sasha had already arrived and was sitting in a closed package, a hermetically sealed history of his once youthful and attentive lover. It struck him that this was all that would remain of an exuberant and flamboyant person who could have done so much with himself had Eddie not ruined his life.

He cut open the seal and pulled out the cream-coloured folder. The only markings on it were a security number and a plain white label that read “Pigeon, Sasha.” Continue reading

In Washington, a surprisingly large number of senior government officials have been working on a strict privatization plan for decades. Over the past 50 years, key players have been passionate about the need to integrate the private sector with government spending. 9/11 and the Iraq war became major jumping points for putting these plans into action.

The Tri-X IPO was the most recent shining example of the level of influence that this new economy held over the rest of America. Companies that produced more bodies than revenue were being heralded as the future of the United States and they were being rewarded for it. Everyone wanted to be a part of these ‘rising stars’, from pension managers right down to Joe-six-pack who saw this kind of investment as a great way to ‘support the troops’. Continue reading
