Horrifying: Good Luck America, Good Luck World

A truly horrifying scenario is growing in my mind: Donald Trump will win the US Presidential election on Tuesday.

There are polls showing Biden has a huge lead, but polls have lied before and they’ll lie again.

The reality is that Trump supporters hold their cards close to their chests. They wait until voting day and throw their support behind a crazy MOFO without question.

And stuff like this isn’t helping. Is there a problem with the Biden family and their dealings abroad? Of course there is, but absolutely not even remotely close to being an issue compared to ‘Mr. I have a hotel in every country in the world and meetings for world leaders can only be held there or I’m not going temper tantrum child of a President’ that the US has on its hands now.

Frightening: Lockdowns Getting More Severe Across Globe

Corona continues to spread.

So do radical lockdown measures across the globe.

Soon the back of the camel will meet that one last straw and more people will ask why.

Are we being pushed too hard with the fearmongering? I’m not, but I suspect other people are starting to get antsy, especially when the lose their house, restaurant, small business or charity as a result of further lockdowns.

And if you need a reminder? On some occasions, according to the CDC, up to 94% of deaths reported in the US may not be actually related to Covid.

Chilling: Big Data Meets Big Education

This seemed inevitable.

Every step towards digitization of education means more data for AI-types to pore over and analyze.

Big companies want all of our kids learning moments … to learn from.

Terrifying: No Resources for Unregistered Kids

Because there wasn’t a lot of direction with ‘back to school’ planning (thank you Doug Ford, Lecce et al), we opted for direct online education with TVO’s ILC for our child. Hence my concerns about the note above.

The requirements were confusing. We were essentially told that we had to withdraw our child from the local school board.

Fine. We did that.

However, we still look at our local school as a resource for our child. We still pay taxes after all.

Unfortunately, our school doesn’t feel the same way. We no longer have access to any resources they offer, including special services like therapy or support groups.

I’d give you more, but it’s very personal and suffice to say, we’re feeling VERY shafted by the bureaucrats.

Education is going to have to change A LOT in the coming years if we’re going to move forward as a species.

Our local administrators and provincial and national politicians have to stop looking at students like numbers and find serious and real ways to help shape them into compassionate, intelligent human beings.

We fail ourselves when we don’t.

Some Good News? Sign This Petition

Change.org is helping people petition for the institution of a #988 emergency number for those feeling suicidal. The number would direct people to registered social workers and other professionals.

Please sign this petition and encourage others to do so. Your actions may save a life.
