I protest against police brutality.
I believe Black Lives Matter.
I promote women’s rights and equality.
I campaign for disability inclusivity.
I believe in history, especially
I know that colonization was disastrous for those colonized.
I’m aware that genocide is sheer evil.
I share ideas against speciesism.
I advocate for voter registration drives.
I support climate action policies.
I demand massive tax action against windfall corporate profits.
I critique unfair immigration laws.
I demand justice reforms in court systems and removal of corrupt judges that are owned by corporations.
I will protest gerrymandering in elections.
I call out companies and organizations that market woke, but act against the will of the people.
I support living wage campaigns and maximum C-level pay equity laws.
I campaign against predatory lending practices.
I will boycott companies that engage in profiteering, especially during and after crises.
I support equal pay legislation.
I enjoy authentic representation in films and media.
I avoid the use of sacred symbols as fashion trends.
I respect indigenous lands and rights and welcome the Recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
I do my best to celebrate and learn about diverse traditions respectfully.
I encourage multiethnic collaborations in art and education.
I engage with mindfulness and seek serenity.
I connect with nature and invite others to forest bathe.
I seek out peace.
I question the trillions spent on harmful weapons.
I support renewable energy initiatives and discourage carbon waste.
I want less plastic.
I promote zero waste.
I question deporting people because they’re not the same colour as me.
I imagine a world that doesn’t create and celebrate billionaires.
I look to a day when religious institutions that advocate hate will lose their charter.
I am saddened that history is being ‘white washed’ by a felon and his supporters.
I am angry that a rapist is ‘the leader of the free world’ and that the entire GOP is too cowardly to remove him from office.
I am not black, but I understand the pain of their history.
I am not Jewish, but I understand the agony of genocide.
I am not gay, but I understand how frightening living in an intolerant household might be.
I am not a woman, but I understand the fight for equality.
I am not a child, but I know that all children must be protected from predators.
I know that ‘woke’ is not a derogatory term. Call me woke and I feel I’m being recognized for recognizing the rights of others to joy, love and peace in their lives.
I believe the future of the world depends on people being ‘woke’.
