Covid Journal, March 19, 2020

By admin

I hope you’re all safe and happy in your homes.

So much news is pouring in about various topics related to Covid, it’s hard to keep up. I’m going to be a little lazy and post mostly links, possibly with a small amount of editorial.

The common question I have with all of this: HOW DID THIS HAPPEN SO FAST AND WHY IS THE ENTIRE PLANET UNDER HOUSE ARREST? I mean, I get it: Covid is bad. We don’t want others to get it. But we also don’t want people to get the common cold. Or cancer. Or even a bee sting.

Also, our politicians seem to be managing OK, but where are the commercial and business leaders of the Western world? I haven’t heard too much about Bezos or the Westons or Sobeys or many other multi-billionaires that all seem to have fallen off the face of the planet.

Anyways, here are a few news stories that caught my eye …

Netflix releases ‘In The Name of the Father’ on St. Patrick’s Day. Interesting choice given that the entire planet has basically been sentenced to their homes on what could only be described as something that’s not their fauly.

Denmark is rushing in authoritarian rules, giving authorities the ability to FORCE testing, treatment and quarantine with the backing of police. The new rules will last until March, 2021. Is this how long we’ll all have to wait for some show of sanity again?

As well as enforcing quarantine measures, the law also allows the authorities to force people to be vaccinated, even though there is currently no vaccination for the virus.

Volunteers produce 3D printed valves for life-saving coronavirus treatments for A DOLLAR. The company they previously worked for was selling it for $10,000-$11,000 per unit. Criminal theft from public pocketbooks and culling the actions of health profiteers has to be a part of the ‘new rules’ that we’re going to have when this shit settles.

If you sell to the public, you get audited by the public. Your bonuses, your benefits, your payouts all become subject to public scrutiny. Enough of this policy of maximizing profits while humanity is circling the drain.

We are looking at 3 months minimum of lockout. Involuntary voluntary confinement (sorry about the paywall – the point is basically that a couple of weeks is just a BS requirement to get us settled in for a LONG wait for normal to return). A gentle form of Martial law. With no ability to converse or share concerns unless using a highly-monitored and controlled social technology like Google/Gmail or Facebook.

This is unprecedented. And business leadership in North America has been AWOL. (Prove me wrong).

Trump cancelled the American pandemic response team 2 YEARS AGO. Here’s a video of his bullshit excuse of why this happened:

In Seattle, the ‘ground zero’ of multiple jumped cases of Covid, no one seems to have a handle on how much a test might cost. Because the US health system is so chronically fucked up, people pay anywhere from $100 to $1,600 per test, depending on antiquated notions related to insurance, employer and so on.

Of course, who knows what maximum profits the suppliers are making, but I can assure you: they are maximum.

In Canada, we are still fortunate enough to have health care workers that actually care about your health and who are assembling treatment facilities all over the country.

Thank goodness!!

I’m going to scan the various sources for some other questions about what’s going on. For the record, I don’t think I would object to something like a vaccination or self-isolation simply to mitigate the spread of the disease, but I think we all have a right to ask some tougher questions about how SO MUCH CONTROL wound up in the hands of so few people SO QUICKLY.

I’m compliant, but I also feel like a lamb being fattened for slaughter.

As long as these controls remain in place, people will get jumpier and want to know: WHY?

=======================

These are UNIQUE and UNPRECEDENTED times.

PLEASE share your experiences and thoughts that will help all of us once this shit show is done.

It WILL get better, but may be a little dark before the dawn.
