Canada Declares War on the UN?

Posted on by 1 comment

Yesterday, in a shameless and defiant act against the UN, Israeli forces mercilessly pounded a UN-funded Palestinian school in the Gaza strip.  While the number of dead are unconfirmed, most will likely be children. Story here .

Israelis and other claim that the Hamas were using the school as a ‘shield’.  It’s very possible, but still doesn’t vindicate this kind of wrath.

By definition, this should be perceived as an act of war against the UN.  UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon has declared that act "completely unacceptable".

Canada, it seems has also declared an act of war against the UN by showing support for this Israeli action, blaming the Hamas on the deaths of dozens of innocent civilians .

Canada’s junior foreign minister, Peter Kent, said that despite sketchy details on the school strike , it is clear that Hamas "bears the full responsibility for the deepening humanitarian tragedy.

"We really don’t have complete details yet , other than the fact that we know that Hamas has made a habit of using civilians and civilian infrastructure as shields for their terrorist activities, and that would seem to be the case again today," he said in an interview.

He added: "In many ways, Hamas behaves as if they are trying to have more of their people killed to make a terrible terrorist point."

Without full information, members of the Harper regime are quick to blame.  Mr. Harper has said nothing.

Under the Harper regime, Canada has failed yet again to show impartiality towards these situations in the Middle East.  Canada used to be an objective leader.

Shame on you Mr. Harper.  Shame.

Conservative TV: Canada’s Tory Voice (CTV)

Job creation by the Conservatives now total 39.  18 bloated Senate positions and 21 new seats for the province of Ontario, all in the hope that the people of Ontario will continue to be blind to the fact that Harper is blind to manufacturing in this country.

And now that Mike Puffy has been assigned to a greater power , we certainly know the reason why:  the CTV has been Canada’s Tory Voice or the Conservative TV network for years.

Please, people:  do yourself a favour and do us all a favour by boycotting the CTV network, Bell Canada and other harbingers of the Harpercrites.

In the interim, I really must give lots of credit to these guys for this logo:

Stephen Harper Lying to the People of Canada?

Posted on by 5 comments

I’m listening to Peter Mansbridge interview Stephen Harper and I’m appalled by the string of lies and contempt that this man continues to show for the people of Canada.

In particular, Mansbridge asked him about the efforts that Harper made in 2004 to work with the Bloc to form a coalition to oppose the Liberals.  Harper denied that they did anything of the sort.

Here’s a re-print of a letter that Harper sent to the Governor General in 2004:

September 9, 2004

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson,
C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D.
Governor General
Rideau Hall
1 Sussex Drive
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A1

Excellency,

As leaders of the opposition parties, we are well aware that, given the
Liberal minority government, you could be asked by the Prime Minister
to dissolve the 38th Parliament at any time should the House of Commons
fail to support some part of the government’s program.

We respectfully point out that the opposition parties, who together
constitute a majority in the House, have been in close consultation. We
believe that, should a request for dissolution arise this should give
you cause, as constitutional practice has determined, to consult the
opposition leaders and consider all of your options before exercising
your constitutional authority.

Your attention to this matter is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Hon. Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P.
Leader of the Opposition
Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada

Gilles Duceppe, M.P.
Leader of the Bloc Quebecois

Jack Layton, M.P.
Leader of the New Democratic Party

What’s the truth?  Can anyone please help me verify why Stephen Harper would contemplate such a misleading statement?

Have I missed something?

Vancouver Pro-Coalition Rally

Last weekend, dozens of rallies took place across the country and the people of Vancouver were no different.

Except … they had a compelling speech by Peter Julian, as captured on YouTube:
