The Solution to Ford

Posted on by 0 comment

While Toronto city council has taken action to strip Rob Ford of most of his powers, he’s still Mayor of Toronto and he’s still in a position to embarrass this city.

Rob Ford must go.

But how when our municipalities and democratic system don’t allow its citizens to take back what is rightfully theirs?

The answer is really quite simple:  funding.

Toronto receives billions on an annual basis from the provincial and federal governments.

Cut Toronto off until Ford is gone.

I’m a taxpayer.  I want my funds going to people who are qualified and who are not certifiable managing these valuable funds.  The are hundreds of talented, qualified professionals out there who easily and readily make the case that they are a million times more worthy and qualified when it comes to receiving and managing public funds.

Rob Ford has proven that he is incapable of managing himself, let alone a multi-billion budget and planning process for Canada’s largest city.

Any money invested in a Mayor Ford Toronto is a waste of money.

So, I have taken steps to plead to the leaders of this country, including Kathleen Wynne and Stephen Harper, amongst others, to withhold any federal and provincial programs from the City of Toronto until the keys to the city return to its people.  I ask you to do the same.

And those of you ‘titans’ of industry that think it’s OK to fund a mayor who’s the laughing stock of the world?

Reconsider ANY funding, donation or economic action that might give Ford even the slightest hint of independence.

He needs you right now and you MUST all turn your back on him.

Failure to do so will destroy Toronto and Toronto will not allow this to happen.  Of course, many Conservatives, especially those in the suburbs and those outside Ontario love the idea of Toronto failing, but when Toronto collapses, its supernova implosion will take Canada with it.

Support Ford and we will remember who supported him and be after you next.

And when Ford is finally gone, we must change our system to give us more control over who runs our society on all levels of government.

The long-run solution to Ford and others like him is that we must take back control of our governments.  We must engage, we must demand change and we must do it ourselves like we’ve never done it before or we will continue to be the butt of every joke from every comedian laughing at us for our complicity.

When Leaders Are Failures …

Posted on by 0 comment

It seems all of our leaders are human.  Go figure.

The ‘holier than thou’ attitudes come to a crashing halt when they come face to face with their own limitations.

They cheat, they steal, the compromise everyone’s integrity, they bully, they blame everyone but themselves, they lie and they are the lowest of the low.

Unfortunately, they keep their grip on power and control and we are too cowardly to remove them from power.  Or at least demand proper rules to ensure that abuse results in removal.

This, despite the fact that their ‘issues’ create serious breaches of ethics, morality, judgement and critical reasoning.

I can’t imagine a single decent leader right now that inspires me and that’s a problem.  They’re all scum.

This is what happens when the media berates decent individuals who are willing to surrender their personal lives for the public good when they try to challenge the thugs and the crooks that are running our cities, our countries and our world.

And what’s the result?  Why should I follow any rules related to day-to-day budgeting when our federal finance minister can’t balance the books, despite pretending to be the right man to do so?

Rob Ford continues to promise to cut taxes and end the gravy train despite being in serious breach of what sane people might call ethics and yet his actions and poor management skills are probably costing the city of Toronto billions in terms of cancelled deals, moving of operations and business managers saying ‘not here’.  These are the intangible costs that he brings on this city, province and country.

And why should I worry about my own social issues and recreational abuses of the law such as using a cell phone in a car when mayors of our towns associate with, do business with and protect drug dealers?

Why should I try to rise above the crowd when the leader of this country hides behind process and archaic rules like prorogation to avoid accountability when that’s exactly what he promised to deliver to Ottawa?

The public of Canada and the world took a turn for the worse today because, hey, if they can break the rules for their own gain, then so can I.  Of course, we know that’s not true:  we all have to play by different rules than our leaders because we’re not the ones making the rules.

You’re all scum and you make me sad because you’ve stripped your challengers of the will to defeat you.

You’re the scourge of humanity and your fate should be as positive as that delivered to French kings and queens more than 200 years ago.

SuperCrook: I Can Break Any Rule …

Posted on by 0 comment

… So long as I keep promising to:

  1. Cut taxes
  2. Stop the ‘gravy train’
  3. Cut red tape
  4. Pretend I’m the only one in town who can manage a budget (when I really can’t)
  5. Protect this country with mega defense budgets (and vast spy networks)

Or all of the above.

I am untouchable and can break any rule, so long as I promise to pay off the right voters.

These are the promises of the criminals that are leading our country.

These are the promises that keep them in power.

This system is definitely broken.
