Fairy Creek – Losing Our Monuments

By admin

Our actions speak louder than words.

We have done a horrible job of trying to protect those who are trying to protect irreplaceable natural beauty.

When we start using the security infrastructure to protect magnificent natural monuments, we’ll know we’re finally moving in the right direction towards saving the planet.

Unfortunately …

“The consequences of taking part in the Fairy Creek blockades have taken years to fully come into focus. Crown prosecutors laid more than 400 charges, with those who have been found or pleaded guilty facing sentences including up to 10 days in jail, community service, and fines usually around $1,500.”

When will we understand that the two-thousand year-old trees are just as valuable as a painting, an old church or an aqueduct?

Just because WE didn’t create it doesn’t mean WE shouldn’t think it’s worth saving.

Pay heed to how things have evolved in Fairy Creek on Vancouver Island.

Its ruin is ours.
